From Saturday 23 February 2019, Studio la Città opens the solo show of Tracey Snelling where, alongside the large installation Tenement Rising, already successfully exhibited in the no place like home exhibition, the artist will propose a series of “sociological” works, recreating on a smaller scale environments and buildings from his personal experience, on the verge of voyeurism.

    7 December 2019 will be an important date for Studio la Città: it will be fifty years since the gallery was opened and its founder, Hélène de Franchis, has decided to celebrate the event with a curious show, with a purposely provocative title.


  • On 13 February 2020, Podbielski Contemporary gallery will open the exhibition: Pleasure Garden, a project curated by Pierre André Podbielski who through a research work over the years ’70 in Paris and recently in Milan, intends to propose a new photographic approach on the artistic nude. Among the works on display also some photographs of the Swedish Bo Ljugblom, an artist recently rediscovered by Studio la Città, whose works have been included in the exhibition: What I did not sell. 50 Years. A Story, now on display in Verona.

  • Starting from 25 January 2020, Gabriele Basilico’s photographs will be the protagonists in Rome of an important exhibition focusing on the theme of the city, showcasing approximately 270 photographs ranging from the 1960s to the 2000s, some them on display here for the very first time. Metropoli, curated by Giovanna Calvenzi e Filippo Maggia, Rome – Palazzo delle Esposizioni, until 13 april 2020.

  • The Gas Giant installation by Jacob Hashimoto appears in the ranking of the 100 key art of the 2010s, published by Artnet!
    Gas Giant was exhibited in 2013 in a solo show organized by Studio la Città on the fourth floor of the Querini Stampalia Foundation in Venice, in the space recently renovated by Mario Botta. Read more


  • The photographs by Massimo Vitali will be on display at the MAF – Ettore Fico Museum, starting on Wednesday 26 February 2020. The exhibition will include more than 30 works, chosen from the production of his last twenty-five years.

  • Silvana Editoriale has published the new book by Vincenzo Castella: BERLIN ’89 which presents for the first time the shots of the photographer’s stay in Berlin, between August and September 1989. A limited edition of 500 numbered copies with text by Frank Boehm (German-Italian-English).


  • Starting from 17 January 2020, the works of Jacob Hashimoto will be exhibited in Paris, in a solo show at the Galerie Italienne. The exhibition is organized in collaboration with Studio la Città. 17 January – 22 February | Galerie Italienne, 15 Rue du Louvre – Paris.


  • Now on sale the catalogue transitorietà di Antonio Marchetti Lamera. The catalogue, published by Scalpendi Editore, contains essays by Daniele Capra and Angela Madesani.

  • From Tuesday, September 20, 2019 at the various locations of the Verona University you can admire the works from the Giorgio and Anna Fasol collection (AGI Verona). The exhibition Contemporanee / Contemporanei, curated by Denis Isaia, collects 80 works by artists of different generations.


  • Jacob Hashimoto will carry out a large site-specific installation at the Portland International Airport.
