Giorgia Severi’s research examines the relationship between man and landscape, paying attention to the cultural connections and to the environmental and scientific matters related to a place. The anthropic intervention on nature and the history of Earth and its changes are the key points of the artist’s work on the archiving of the landscape. The country is fragmented to recall nowadays condition of the planet, quickly changing because of man intervention.
The artist uses mixed media: from sculpture to painting, from performance to video. Her recent projects include international exhibitions, artist-in-residence programs and site-specific works; among other shows in Italy, Paris, India and Australia, she participated at the 56th Venice Biennale with Country. She also displayed her work in many group shows, like the recent Back to the Land at Studio la Città, curated by Andrea Lerda.
