Victoria Stoian

Victoria Stoian’s works are linked to her homeland and its history: Moldova, ravaged by natural disasters and political clashes.

In her works, Stoian expresses a fascination with the link between change and destruction, narrating life’s relationship with drama.

The absence of points of reference – geographical, mental, psychological – gives rise to panic, interpreted by the artist as possible freedom.

Through the metaphor of natural catastrophe Stoian addresses chaos as vitality as opposed to stasis.
