ArteFiera is, as always, the year’s first international event devoted to art. And as always, Studio la Città will be presenting its artists, both those with a consolidated reputation and those from the rising generation.
In view of the group show India Crossing, which will be opening in the gallery next February 16 , we will be presenting various works by some of the artists in the show, amongst whom Valsan Koorma Kolleri.
A section of the stand will be devoted to photographs by Gabriele Basilico, Vincenzo Castella, Davide
Bramante, and Izima Kaoru. Mikhael Subotzky will also be represented concurrently with his first solo show in the gallery. We will also be presenting the recent video My Breath by Victor Alimpiev, also exhibiting for the first time in the gallery.
There will as well be works by the Italian artists Luigi Carboni and Mirco Marchelli, recent works by Jacob Hashimoto, and a large-scale painting by Timothy Tompkins. We will also be showing for the first time works from the series Paesaggio italiano by Hiroyuki Masuyama, inspired by the work of William Turner.
After the success of his installation over the walkways of Castevecchio in Verona, Herbert Hamak will be
present with a video document narrating his interventions on various historical sites, from the installation on the façade of Atri cathedral to that in Archiginnasio, Bologna, which will be inaugurated on Thursday 24 January. And finally mention must be made of the Italian classics: Lucio Fontana, Giulio Paolini, Pier Paolo Calzolari and Ettore Spalletti.
