The solo show by Jacob Hashimoto in the rooms of Studio la Città has all the look of a new chapter in telling the story and exhibiting the works of this American artist. This time we will not be considering the great, spectacular installations, the overarching dialogue between the architectural aspects of the venue, or the imposing delicacy of the suspended kites. The materials are those he has always used: paper, bamboo, Dacron, pigments, acrylics, and pencil. There will be wall-works, works suspended from the ceiling, preparatory drawings, and his recent working drawings. The effect, however, will be far more intimate and private. The works, recent or otherwise, will tell their stories as though they were having a direct and personal dialogue with each individual viewer.
