In occasion of Milan Art Week 2025 and Miart Art Fair 2025, INPS, with the patronage of the Ministry of Culture, the Lombardy Region, and the Municipality of Milan, is promoting the Contemporary Art exhibition for Responsible Art, organized at the Regional Directorate of Lombardy’s headquarters at Palazzo Piacentini, from April 3 to April 13, 2025. The exhibition, which involves international artists such as Arthur Duff, Raimondo Galeano, Roberto Pugliese, Hyon Soo Kim, Marta Longa, and the collective Universal Everything, curated by Valerio Dehò and Annalisa Bianco, aims to offer an inclusive experience, addressing a diverse audience in terms of age and composition. It presents works that diverge in language, technique, and medium, yet all focus on values dear to the institute, such as dignity, quality of life, memory, and social responsibility. Through innovative techniques and diverse languages, the works engage with the theme of the 2025 Miart edition, Among friends, exploring art as a vehicle for social and intergenerational communication.
This initiative, which brings together contemporary works with the architectural lines of the building hosting them, promotes the vision of cultural welfare, essential for the right to personal satisfaction and growth of citizens. The Institute, custodian of the historical memory and collective identity of the country, is committed to enhancing cultural heritage and patronage, creating intergenerational connections with artists of various ages and experiences. In this context, art can become a powerful tool for communication, connection, and cultural enhancement, integrating into the Institute’s strategy to strengthen its identity and role in society.
This promotes a vision of welfare that integrates the cultural dimension as an integral part of collective well-being. The choice of Palazzo Piacentini is not accidental: it represents a bridge between the past and the present, making the connections between the exhibited works and the ideals of modern welfare tangible.

  • On Friday, April 11, the Madre Museum in Naples presented Lawrence Carroll. Keep Looking, a catalogue published by Arte’m Napoli with the support of Gianfranco D’Amato.
    The volume documents the major exhibition that the Donnaregina Foundation for Contemporary Arts – Madre Museum dedicated to Lawrence Carroll in 2022.

  • Arthur Duff and Giorgia Severi have been selected for the group exhibition SCULTURA CENTRALE. 11 Italian Artists in Vicenza, held in the spaces of the former Centrale del Latte.
    The exhibition also features the artists Bertozzi & Casoni, Francesco Bocchini, Filippo La Vaccara, Chiara Lecca, Roberto Mascella, Nero/Alessandro Neretti, Adriano Persiani, Silvia Vendramel, and Willy Verginer. Curated by Alberto Zanchetta and Paolo Dosa, the exhibition will open on April 12, 2025, and will be open until June 26, 2025.

  • During Milan Design Week 2025, inside the Seletti showroom at Corso Garibaldi 117, the installation Hotel Voyeur will be presented: the new Seletti lamp created in collaboration with American artist Tracey Snelling, inspired by the façade of a hotel, where the windows come to life with short looping videos.

    Exclusively for Milan Design Week, visitors will also have the chance to personalize the lamp by adding their own video, thus creating a unique piece.

  • In the year of its 40th anniversary, Kunsthalle München is dedicating an innovative exhibition  to the question of how we live today, illustrating both civilization’s diversity and contradictions.
    The aim is to shed light on various aspects of our highly complex coexistence—from humankind’s great achievements to our collective failings.
    Michael Najjar participates in this groundbreaking event with several artworks from his internationally acclaimed “outer space” and “cool earth” series.

  • With the work Iper Sacro, Davide Maria Coltro participates in the Immaginare la Speranza project, promoted by the Office of Pastoral Care for Culture of the Diocese of Bergamo and realized by the Adriano Bernareggi Foundation, with the curatorship of Don Giuliano Zanchi. The project involves four Jubilee churches of the Diocese, including the church of San Giovanni Bianco, where the artist’s work will be displayed. The event will take place from April 5, 2025, to January 6, 2026.

  • On the occasion of the finissage of Andrea Fogli‘s exhibition Figure senza nome, Hélène de Franchis is pleased to invite you to the presentation of the volume 7 Atlanti – edited by Stefano Chiodi and published by Quodlibet – on Saturday, March 15 at 11 a.m. at Studio la Città.
    The artist will be in conversation with Denis Isaia, curator responsible for the exhibitions and the Contemporary Art Collections at Mart.

  • From March 1, 2025, to January 18, 2026, Certaldo celebrates Giovanni Boccaccio, marking the 650th anniversary of his death, with CertaldoArte25, a contemporary art exhibition organized by the Municipality of Certaldo and sponsored by the Regional Council of Tuscany.
    Nine Italian and international artists, with works ranging from paintings to sculptures, artistic installations, and jewelry, will participate: Thomas Lange, Mutsuo Hirano, Marica Fasoli, Valentina Palazzari, Marcella Conte, Marco Frangini, Valerio Salvadori, Arthur Duff,  and Antonio Marchetti Lamera. Each of them will present a work dedicated to the great writer.

  • The Municipality of Verona – Department for Gender Equality – in collaboration with ArtiVer, is promoting the distributed exhibition project Freedom, as part of the activities dedicated to International Women’s Rights Day.

    Studio la Città participates in the exhibition project, which is spread across the contemporary art galleries in the city, by presenting an exhibition on Saturday, March 8, at 11 a.m., featuring 7 female artists – Marcela Cernadas (1967), Sonia Terk Delaunay (1885-1979), Anna Galtarossa (1975), Julia Mangold (1966), Lorenza Sannai (1969), Tracey Snelling (1970), Hema Upadhyay (1972-2015) – and 1 male artist, Filippo Tommasoli (1990).

    Magazzino Italian Art will open the exhibition LUCIO POZZI: qui dentro / in here on March 7. The exhibition, curated by David Ebony, presents a selection of works that offer insight into the continuous and often imaginative experimentation of the Milanese artist, a reflection of an extraordinary career that has lasted over 60 years.

  • The Gabriele Basilico. Roma exhibition will continue until May 4, 2025, after opening in December 2024 in the rooms of Palazzo Altemps in Rome.
    Curated by Matteo Balduzzi and Giovanna Calvenzi, the exhibition offers – on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the birth of the great master of Italian photography – an unprecedented journey through the main works created by Gabriele Basilico on Rome, a city deeply loved and frequently visited by the Milanese photographer.

     

  • Tracey Snelling is among the artists selected by curator Rick Gerardus for THE CITIES WRAPPED AROUND OUR BODIES, a multi-disciplinary exhibition and festival taking place from January 25–29, 2025, at Kunstquartier Bethanien, Berlin. The event brings together artists from Kottbusser Tor – the symbol square of Berlin’s Kreuzer district -, and around the world to explore topical themes such as self-representation, counter-surveillance, exile, and cultural labor in times of conflict.

     

     

     

     

  • Studio la Città is pleased to announce that the Cultural Association Le Nuove Stanze di Arezzo with its editorial project on Michele Alberto Sereni, “Michele Alberto Sereni. L’opera in sé. Fotografie d’arte e ritratti d’artista dal 1990 al 2024” , curated by Roberto Lacarbonara (Magonza editore), won the call Strategia Fotografia, launched by the Directorate for Contemporary Creativity of the Ministry of Culture for acquisition, production, conservation and enhancement of photography and the Italian photographic heritage.

  • The University of Verona’s museum network and the Diffused  Museum for Contemporary Art and Languages were born as a result of the first 110 contemporary art works donated by the Agiverona collection.
    The transfer of ownership of the paintings from Anna Pedron and Giorgio Fasol to the University was officially announced on the morning of 14 November in the Barbieri room of Palazzo Giuliari, with the signatures of the rector Pier Francesco Nocini and the two collectors.

     

  • The Pascali Foundation of Polignano a Mare opens in the basement the exhibition Antonio Marchetti Lamera – Breathed on by lights/ Soffiato dalla luce, curated by Neylan Bağcıoğlu İzgi. The artist’s most recent production will be on display in the exhibition, which opened on November 15th and will stay open until January 12th, 2025.

  • Presented in the exhibition area INNOVA by la città projects at ArtVerona 2024, American artist Tracey Snelling has caught the attention of Marval Collection, which decided to award her work, and in particular the opera Flaghouse Room #2 (2016), with the prestigious Marval Collection Award, that supports the system of contemporary art through an intense program of acquisitions.

  • Tracey Snelling presents her new solo exhibition entitled How We Live at Haus am Lützowplatz in Berlin on view through Feb. 9, 2025.
    In her works, the artist examines issues related to public housing by paying particular attention to the social relationships of the individuals who live there.

  • Studio la Città renews its collaboration with Art Stays in Ptuj. The 22nd edition of Slovenia’s largest contemporary art festival features exhibitions, performances and projects by international artists, including Shaun Gladwell with the video In a Station of the Metro, and Davide Maria Coltro with two new works from the SPY PORTRAITS series.
    The programme was realized by the festival’s artistic director Jernej Forbici and creative director Marika Vicari, together with guest curators.

  • The site specific exhibition “Davide Bramante Pan_Estesìa. Tutta la bellezza che ho negli occhi” opened on Tuesday 14 May in the Galleria Regionale of Palazzo Bellomo in Syracuse (Sicily). The exhibition is curated by Laura Milani and the Civita Sicilia team, promoted by the Museum that hosts it, produced and organized by Civita Sicilia. It runs until October 31, 2024. 

  • The notebook Giorgio Vigna donated to the Moleskine Foundation Collection will be exhibited in the Detour “The legendary power of creativity on paper” exhibition in collaboration with Moleskine in the spaces of Pinacoteca Ambrosiana in Milan until June 11, 2024.

  • About Us is the new art project created by Tracey Snelling for The Home of The Human Safety Net, which complements the interactive exhibition A World of Potential at the Procuratie Vecchie in San Marco square. It will be on display for visitors until March 24, 2025.

  • Until June 16th, the Museo Diocesano of Vicenza hosts RE GENESIS L’istinto prima della ragione, a double solo show by Lucio Pozzi and Alberto Salvetti curated by Sandro Orlandi Stagl and Chiara Fanceschini.

  • Luigi Carboni‘s artwork “Oro Ossidazione” (1991) has been included in the exhibition project “The Blue Gold” curated by Leonardo Regano at the Museo dei Bronzi Dorati e della Città di Pergola. The exhibition runs until December 15, 2024.

  • Saturday February 10, 2024 the exhibition TORN CURTAIN buongiorno, buonasera opens in the gallery. Like a narration of lives that run parallel, the exhibition – rather mysterious and unusual – presents a figurative dialogue between Luca Massimo Barbero and Hélène de Franchis; more than 60 works are on display, chosen according to each curator’s taste, with as many artists from various periods of art history, including painting, sculpture, installations and ceramics. The show has been extended until June 1st, 2024.
