Daniel González – site-specific installation with mylar wallpaper

Daniel González, carta da parati Mondello Palace Hotel 2018 low

The site-specific installation by Daniel González opens at the Mondello Hotel Palace (Palermo) on 5 June 2018. The installation is made with mylar wallpaper; the 3D wallpaper concept by Daniel González is based on a personal collage technique that uses the Mylar (metallized polypropylene) as the main element. The artist develops the collage in Mylar taking it to the extreme to create suggestion and wonder in the living space, as ephemeral design works, in contemplation of the delicate minimalist compositions. Gently cut and applied by hand, the strips in Mylar define the surface of the 3D wallpaper by Daniel González, intersecting intensely one by one, to generate a mutual interaction between reflections and direct light.
