Gucci reopens the historic boutique in via Montenapoleone 5 in Milan, inaugurated for the first time in 1951 and closed since last July, today completely revolutionized in the interior. The space has become a place of inspiration that links fashion, craftsmanship and design made in Italy. The materials and furnishings were chosen based on Sabato De Sarno‘s aesthetic taste.
The boutique also houses a selection of works of art curated by Truls Blaasmo. Entering is a visual and tactile experience that encourages interaction with fabrics and more. The promenade is divided between the works of young talents and those of the most well-known artists: in the space, there are works by Lucio Fontana, Getulio Alviani, Franco Mazzucchelli and Liliana Moro, together with the works of international artists such as Herbert Hamak, Nathlie Provosty, Jamie Poblete, Adji Dieye and Augustas Serapinas.
“This inauguration celebrates the long-standing bond between Gucci and the city of Milan, where the boutique opened for the first time in 1951. Reopening its doors again today, in this city symbolizing creativity, fashion and luxury, has a particularly significant for us,” said Gucci President and CEO Jean-François Palus. “The new boutique focuses on the value that Gucci attributes to contemporary art and design and embodies the essence of Italian beauty and craftsmanship. With the aim of offering our customers a unique experience, the Monte Napoleone store enhances the exceptional quality of the Maison’s products. Here, fashion and timeless luxury coexist in complete harmony.”
