Michael Najjar participates in the exhibition “Tower of Flowing Light” is a group show based on the theme of light, bringing together the works of 30 Chinese and international artists, including Maurizio Cattelan, Olafur Eliasson and Yang Fudong. The Sifang Art Museum at the foot of the Laoshan Mountain Range will be transformed into a tower of flowing light.
Michael Najjar participates in the exhibtion with 2 artworks from his internationally acclaimed outer space series. “gravitation entanglement”, depicts the inevitable collision between our own Milky Way and our closest neighbor, the Andromeda Galaxy. NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope observations indicate that the two galaxies, pulled together by their mutual force of attraction, will crash in a near-head-on collision in about 4.5 billion years from now.
The second work is “supersymmetric particles”, which pictures ATLAS, the gigantic particle accelerator at the CERN. Inside the accelerator, two high-energy particle beams travel at close to the speed of light before they are made to collide. 46 m long, 25 m high and 25 m wide, the 7000-tonne machine is the largest machine humans ever constructed.
