The building of the former Centrale del Latte, decommissioned in 2009 and brought back to life last July, is now at the center of a project aimed at enhancing its value through an exhibition that seeks to create a dialogue between architecture and sculpture.
The selection of artists, all Italian, is the result of a careful selection of professionals who work and exhibit both nationally and internationally with significant public and private institutions. The artists involved are: Bertozzi & Casoni, Francesco Bocchini, Arthur Duff, Filippo La Vaccara, Chiara Lecca, Roberto Mascella, Nero/Alessandro Neretti, Adriano Persiani, Giorgia Severi, Silvia Vendramel, and Willy Verginer. Each of them is assigned one of the spaces that mark the four levels of the building, with the works displayed on pedestals that allow one to inhabit the space, shape it, and establish a relationship with the architecture.
The goal of the initiative, which will conclude on June 26, is to create a potential museum reality that amplifies its social and cultural practice, also triggering a force of cohesion with the audience and the urban context. The exhibition aims to build both the local reality of the neighborhood and make visitors feel at the center of this reality through a communicative and emotional approach, also enhancing the former Centrale del Latte, decommissioned in 2009 and revived last July, at the heart of a project for its redevelopment through the exhibition.
The exhibition is curated by Alberto Zanchetta, a professor at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Venice, curator and critic of Vicentine origins, and Paolo Dosa, founder of AndreA Arte ContemporaneA, a gallery active from 2003 to 2013 in the Casa del Palladio in Vicenza. The organization is entrusted to the ACT Arte Contemporanea Territorio Association and is supported by the Roi Foundation and various local supporters and sponsors.
