
Today I would like to be a Tree exhibition through the words of Hélène de Franchis in an interview by the editorial staff of Exibart.
«The tree show was scheduled for September, then two important things happened that made me change the date. The first is the storm that uprooted many trees in Verona in August 2020 and the second is the explosion that destroyed the port area in Beirut. After that disaster, one of the Lebanese artists drew a forest in charcoal on paper on one of the gallery’s remaining walls which he then divided into 70 × 100 sheets and sold via the internet to help repair and rehabilitate as many buildings as possible. The title of the forest was “Today I would like to be a Tree”.
Finally, when recently the two fifty-year-old cedars also disappeared from our “courtyard” at the Galtarossa, I thought it was the right time to anticipate the September exhibition ».
