Istituto Centrale per il Catalogo e la Documentazione (ICCD) presents the exhibition Vincenzo Castella. Rinascimento, luce naturale curated by Francesca Fabiani, set up until 22 March 2024 in the spaces of the former ICCD Church of Zitelle, in Rome.
The exhibition represents the final output of a project of acquisition, conservation and enhancement of 50 photographic works by Vincenzo Castella, chosen in accordance with the ICCD collection, born in the late ‘800 as Photographic Cabinet with the task of documenting the Italian cultural heritage.
The initiative is therefore in continuity with the mission of the Institute, today increasingly committed to promoting the photographic language in a contemporary key. Enriching the collection with the work of an author like Vincenzo Castella certainly does not aim to multiply the image of places already widely represented, but to introduce new ways of looking and questioning the visible.
