Alan Castelli De Capua (Bologna, 1958 – 2016) with his artistic production investigates the relationship between sculpture and painting.
In a panorama in which processes of simplification, despoliation, end up highlighting the preponderance, the importance, the elegance of the material; wanting to take Alan Castelli de Capua’s analysis and research to its limit, we could say that “painting2 is his “material” par excellence. The use of media such as glass, papier-mâché, resin, wood, iron, lava, etc., therefore becomes essential only on condition that the pictorial element finds its own precise linguistic dimension: “a sculpture more and more to look at and less and less to touch”.
