ANNA GALTAROSSA
Sassi

Anna Galtarossa was born in Bussolengo, Verona, in 1975.
She lives and works in San Pietro in Cariano, Verona, and New York where, in 2004, she held her first solo show at the Spencer Brownstone Gallery. Since 2010 she collaborates with Studio la Città. Her works have been exhibited in group and solo shows at the Castello di Rivoli, the Musée d’Art Contemporain de Bordeaux, and MART, Rovereto.
The works by Anna Galtarossa allude to fantastic, possible, and impossible worlds full of colour, objects of everyday use, and various forms of female artisanship.
Her compositions are made with purposely heterogeneous techniques and materials and stage a fluid narrative, calling attention to the meaning and value of the small things; they give life to deep correspondences, thus questioning the semantic content of the codes currently used in museums.
This group of works, simply called Sassi, created during the lockdown period, was part of a larger installation curated by the artist on the occasion of the group show La Musée 2 at Studio la Città, between October and November 2020.
