Brian Alfred (Pittsburgh, 1974) lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
With the cut paper the artist creates drawings where the sign is the paper itself.
These collages are made in a similar fashion to the computer drawings and paintings. The small scale and tactile nature of the collaged paper give them a more intimate feel.
His work is in such collections as the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Denver Art Museum, and the Albright-Knox Art Gallery.
