David Simpson – Marmi Romani
David Simpson was born in Pasadena in 1928; he lives and works in Berkeley, California
It is difficult to understand in their fullness the works of David Simpson. These are paintings that need long observation times. A quick, distracted glance would risk rejection.
In his paintings is the poetry of the minims that are revealed slowly: no clamor. Rather a kind of exercise that imposes concentration in open break with what is around us.
This exhibition displays works from the late 1990s to the late 2021 along with Roman marbles from the 2nd century BC.
