FILIPPO TOMMASOLI,
Don’t Make Up
Filippo Tommasoli is a photographer, filmmaker, and visual artist born in 1990 in Verona. He began working as a professional photographer at the family’s photography studio, Studio Tommasoli (active since 1906), where he built his experience in both digital and analog photography, combining the study of new technologies with traditional processes. Alongside his professional work, he immediately began exploring the artistic expressive potential of photographic language, focusing on its semiotic and philosophical peculiarities.
He is one of the winners of the “New Post Photography Award” 2022, at the MIA Photo Fair, and was selected by the Malerba Foundation for the photographic exhibition “Miradas Compartidas”, in Havana, Cuba, in both the 2022 and 2023 editions. In March 2023, he exhibited about ten of his works at the Italian Cultural Institute in New York. In June 2023, he was one of the finalists of the fourteenth edition of the Combat Prize. In 2024, he will exhibit at the Palazzo Grandi Stazioni in Venice and at the 81st Venice Film Festival.
He is present in this all-female exhibition with a poetic video work, technically flawless and conceptually powerful, denouncing domestic violence.
