GABRIELE BASILICO, Istanbul 05 010

Dalmazio Gabriele Basilico (1944 – 2013).
Gabriele Basilico’s portrait of Istanbul includes unpublished photographs taken in 2005 and taken in 2010. The exact look of the photographic lens returns images of the expanding city among the most populous metropolitan areas in the world. The omnipresent mist, the steep profile of the horizon and the light that evaporates from the illuminated streets are the backdrop to the architectural landscape of the city: the anonymous verticality of the new residential towers and the horizontality packed with the endless suburbs.
