JACOB HASHIMOTO, Foundational Work

Jacob Hashimoto was born in 1973 in Greeley, U.S.A. He currently lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
The artist of Japanese origin draws on his ethnic origins through work, redefining the screen painting of Japan through the assembly of small paper kites that he stratifies into larger compositions. the individual components themselves are abstract, but when arranged together, they result in graphic images composed of groups of models, stripes, waves of color creating pictorial images that suggest representations of panoramas, landscapes, scrolling video games or board games.
