Noise

Jacob Hashimoto was born in the United States in Greeley (Colorado) in 1973. He lives and works in Ossining (New York).

Catalogue created on the occasion of the solo exhibition of Jacob Hashimoto at Studio la Città that does not present his well-known installations of monochrome or multicolored kites but this time Jacob works only on canvas, his work is pure painting.
Actually – as the artist himself says – these last explorations in painting are basically an extension of the work for which he is best known.
Through the language of these works, we can better understand the fundamental steps of his creative process, and the distinctive features of his wider production are still recognizable.
More precisely, this cycle presents a new set of questions: the ideas of sound, cacophony and senseless noise in front of a world flooded with images without author or semi-authors.
This work gives rise to the exhibition title “Noise“.
