JUDY FISKIN
UNTITLED (JERSEY SHORE 315), 1986-88
Judy Fiskin (Chicago, 1945) lives in Los Angeles. She is known for her series of black and white scale photographs of Southern California architecture and landscapes.
Her photographs present an aesthetic similar to that of the New Topographics current, from which, however, the artist distances herself:
“In my work, the detail is the least important part. It is present, and the work would not be the same without it, but at the same time it is not the focus; for me the most important part is the visual relationship… looking at this little universe of representation extrapolated from reality.” cit. Fiskin
This work was exhibited at the Cologne Fair in 1995 and in the Bologna Fair in 1996.
