Lawrence Carroll (1954, Melbourne, Australia).
In Carroll’s works the abstraction of reality develops into a sort of recovery of lost time, not so much as a memory or nostalgic memory, but rather as a journey of discovery of the work and its history through the processes of creation, as a search for new and unexpected perceptions on the very idea of the work of art, as a silent excavation to try to understand themselves.
