SANKAWA, Sculpture

Yoshihisa Sankawa was born 1941 in Tokyo, JP.
Sankawa makes serene, enigmatic sculptures of great beauty in which two cultures, East and West, find together perfect balance. He works like a ship-builder, joining small pieces of wood over and inner frame. In this way, atavistic bodies are formed which in one way are powerful and authoritative but also radiate mystery.
