SUBODH GUPTA, Gandhi’s Three Monkeys
Gupta was born in 1964 in Khagaul, India.
Subodh Gupta, is an Indian contemporary artist based in New Delhi. His work encompasses sculpture, installation, painting, photography, performance and video. In his works the artist recalls the themes of the home and the family, but at the same time he refers to the violence and conflict inherent in domestic environments. The accumulation of objects echoes the happy economic growth of India, but also reminds the misery of the poorer classes for whom access to food is one of the daily battles.
