The volume is published to accompany Iran’s participation in the 56th edition of the Venice Biennale. The volume, with an essay by Marco Meneguzzo, presents the works of Iranian artists together with those from Afghanistan, India, Pakistan and Iraq, with the intention of offering an appropriate image of the culture, history and identity of this ancient country, which is taking on an increasingly fundamental role of mediation to ensure balance in the geopolitical context of the Middle East.
