TRACEY SNELLING,
Wild at Heart
Tracey Snelling is a California-born artist who lives and works in Berlin.
Her works explore places, people, and culture through the use of scale and repetition of a theme, creating new realities that change depending on the viewer’s perception. Using video, audio, and manipulation of size, she does not aim to replicate a place but rather to provide her impression of an environment, its people, and her experience, allowing the viewer to extrapolate their own personal meaning.
Snelling has exhibited in galleries, museums, and international institutions, including the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium, the Royal Palace in Milan, the Museum of Arts and Design in New York, the Kunstmuseum Krefeld in Germany, El Museo de Arte de Banco de la República in Bogotá, and the Stenersen Museum in Oslo. In 2019, she exhibited at the Venice Biennale in the Swatch Faces 2019 pavilion. Recently, her works have been displayed in Venice at the Procuratie Vecchie in the spaces of The Human Safety Net, at the GAM Achille Forti in Verona, and at Haus am Lützowplatz in Berlin.
Her last project dedicated to the idea of living in a “house” was realized in the Neapolitan district of Scampia.
