VINCENZO CASTELLA, #61 Helsinki

Vincenzo Castella was born in Naples in 1952, he lives and works in Milan.

His attitude towards the content of his work is profoundly different from that of other landscape photographers. His is an exploration that starts from the places he knows best: Naples and Milan, and then other cities in Europe and the Mediterranean. Photographs, taken from points of view that anyone could find. In fact, Castella does not particularly favor the eye. Since his early works in the mid-1970s he has eliminated the narrative self, an important moment in his development towards the rejection of subjectivity.
