VINCENZO CASTELLA, In linea d’aria

Vincenzo Castella was born in Naples in 1952 and now lives and works in Milan. In the San Lupo space, for his 2012 exhibition, Castella alternated between historical photographs of cities and new shots. The subjects are urban views of Bergamo and Jerusalem. Some site-specific projections tell episodes of Italian Renaissance interiors. Finally, a comparison on Giotto’s Crucifix in Santa Maria Novella in Florence, filmed while it is looking at us and while we are looking at it.
